Highest station in Europe
Val Thorens is a mountain sports resort in the Tarentaise valley, located in the district of Belleville, in the Savoie department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The resort started its development in 1969 and was inaugurated for the winter season in 1971.
With a village culminating at 2,300 meters above sea level, the resort of Val Thorens is the highest ski resort in Europe.
